Engagement Rings : Love is Meant to be Shared

In the journey of romance an engagement is a symbol of a precious moment in time. It symbolizes a bright future of a journey of life’s special moments. Many times you see the traditional engagement proposal on television, or by word of mouth, in person and sometimes you see the not so traditional engagement proposal. Always though, there is an engagement ring or a promise ring to vow ones love, faithfulness, and commitment to each other.

A diamond ring is the most preferred and sought after ring for engagements. Because of the elegance, beauty, and perceived value, women are excited when they see or especially receive an engagement ring.

There are different basic settings of diamond engagement rings: One being a solitaire setting, which is the most popular, which is a single diamond stone in the middle of the ring. Pave is also a common style where the ring band is being covered with the small stones in such a manner not to show any metal base. There are many designs of engagement rings. There are different levels of quality, price and design.

Many times the diamond solitaire is purchased separately so one can examine the quality of the stone. I do not recommend purchasing an engagement ring with the diamond in the setting before you can examine the diamond by a properly trained jeweler. Cubic zirconia is used quite often in place of the diamond solitaire setting. Many women leave the cubic zirconia piece in place and purchase the diamond solitaire at a later time. Because of the softness of cubic zirconia women need to be careful because it will scratch but can be replaced fairly inexpensively.

Many women like the traditional 14k or 18k yellow gold diamond engagement ring, but others like the 14k or 18k white gold diamond engagement rings. I have also found women that are more on the edge of design that like the 14k or 18k rose gold diamond engagement rings, or even the blended 3 of the gold types yellow, white and rose.
